Answer:

The Bible begins with the words in Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created . . "

God made time. Before the beginning of time and our creation, there was Eternity which has no beginning and no end. God was, God is, and God will always be! That is a hard concept for us to grasp.

The story of the bible is really one story, beginning in Genesis and ending in Revelation. It is the story of God creating the universe, then making man, to have man in voluntary fellowship with Him.

To do this God gave man a free will. God made angels, but one of them rebelled and turned away from God. When God made man, the fallen angel, named Lucifer (means a light bearer) also called Satan or the Devil, deceived man by questioning God's integrity. Man fell for the lie, and in a perfect world, man also turned away to 'do his own thing'.

God loved His creation, and planned to personally pay for the sin of man, so that man could be freely reconciled to God again. That is the story of what Easter is all about. God sent His Son to this earth, to be born of a virgin, impregnated by God. Joseph was only Jesus' foster father. The baby born, was given the name Jesus. His mission was to offer life and fellowship with God through his paying the price of man's disobedience by dying on the Cross.

If the God-man Jesus had ever done one sin, his death would have been permanent, for the wages of sin is death. The incredible proof of Jesus being the son of God is that He came alive again on the third day, and was seen alive by more than 500 people after his resurrection. The third part of God, is the Holy Spirit, who brought Jesus back to life again.

You may still have more questions, which I will welcome. I have tried to give you a short summary of who God is and why He cares for you personally. He wants you to have fellowship, that is be best friends with Him.
